NIR laboratory system used to measure Iode value and OH-number in polymers

The OH number and the Iodine number are relevant process parameters for polyether production (and many other polymers). They provide information on the chain length and the degree of interlacing resp. the degree of an unsaturated compound. Both parameters are, therefore, often required for process monitoring and quality control.

The application for quality control using the SentroLab NIR (spectral range: 900nm - 1700nm) with a connected dip probe and a user-friendly operating software is described in detail.
