PTS Paper Bale Sensor
Fluctuating quality in recovered paper presents significant challenges for the production of secondary fibre pulp in paper mills, affecting product strength, purchasing decisions, and recycling efficiency. To address these issues, Sentronic provides the essential instrument hardware and core software package that powers the PTS Paper Bale Sensor—a robust system designed for reliable operation even in harsh environmental conditions.
Utilizing advanced Near-Infrared (NIR) technology, the sensor enables precise, non-invasive evaluation of recovered paper quality directly in the receiving area. It delivers real-time measurements of critical parameters such as moisture, plastic, ash, and fibre content, either by analyzing surface properties or probing bale interiors. These rapid assessments support immediate decision-making, from lodging complaints to adjusting delivery valuations. Measurement results are transmitted wirelessly to tablet PCs or servers, ensuring seamless supplier data integration and comprehensive quality management.

The apotec NIR, based on the SentroID handheld NIR spectrometer, is widely used in pharmacies, primarily in Germany. It is distributed and serviced by our partner, WEPA Apothekenbedarf, a leading provider of pharmaceutical supplies known for its commitment to high-quality service for healthcare providers.
As Sentronic, we not only manufacture this instrument but also maintain and continuously develop a validated substance library containing over 1,000 pharmaceutical substances. This library is essential for identifying substances in German pharmacies before the production of personalized medicines.
